Flea Bite
Flea bite can be utterly aggravating. Human flea bites are often the reason why people decide to get rid of fleas in the first place. Often, you would only notice the problem when it hits you at home.
Most people are usually bitten by fleas about the legs and ankles, and there are usually 2 or 3 bites in a row. Some flea bite picture showing flea bite on human can be seen here. The bites are usually felt immediately, but tend to become increasingly irritating, and are frequently sore for as much as a week. Flea bite may vary in their effects, from a transient wheal to prolonged symptoms that last for years, depending on the sensitivity of the victim. Children less than 10 years old were found to be more sensitive to the bites than older persons. The insects inject a hemorrhagic saliva that can cause severe itching, and repeated bites may produce a generalized rash. A small, red spot usually appears where the flea's mandibles have penetrated the skin. The spot is surrounded by a red halo, but there is never much swelling. Though you may not be able to totally avoid being bitten by fleas, you can however try a number of ways to minimize the discomfort till the flea population can be effectively controlled.
Try these:
First, wear socks everywhere around the house. Fleas generally live on the floor, and they can only jump about two feet. While you're waiting for your flea control to work, you can make sure that they don't bite you on the legs or ankles, which are the most common places to get bites.
Second, wash your bedding in hot water several times. Anything you sleep on is fair game for fleas, and especially if you have a dog or cat who likes to jump on the bed with you. Bites at nighttime can be particularly annoying - you may wake up with itches all over, and there's little you can do about it once you're asleep.
Third, apply some insect or flea repellant onto your body especially your hands and legs. It stops flea from clinging onto you and biting you.
Lastly, flea bite treatment could be given to relieve some of the allergic reactions and symptoms of the flea bites.
